Vision & Values

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34

Kidmore End CE School is an inclusive learning community where everyone can realise their unique potential as an independent learner.

What does this look like in our school?

Our school is a place where:

  • We ask questions and learn from our mistakes
  • We are resourceful, responsible and respectful
  • We share our gifts and contribute to our community
  • Everyone is valued and loved as a child of God

Values for Life
Each term over the year in our collective worship we think about a different value and how we might demonstrate that value in our behaviour around school. We look at what the Bible has to tell us about that value, and use stories from around the world to explore the value in different contexts. We discussed values with parents and governors over the 2016-17 school year and decided on six core values - these are:

  • Thankfulness
  • Hope
  • Truthfulness
  • Courage
  • Friendship
  • Responsibility
This term our value is Courage.  Courage does not mean never being scared - in fact the bravest people feel scared, worried and nervous just like the rest of us!   We will be sharing stories of brave people and finding out how they overcame their fears.

Below you will find a link to our Home School Values Activity Sheets which have ideas for discussing our values further at home.  I hope you enjoy exploring the values with your child.

Behaviour for Learning
We have a clear set of three expectations for everyone in our school community.  We hope this will ensure our 'rules' are memorable and easy to apply in every context.  The expectations are:

  • Be safe
  • Be respectful
  • Be ready to learn.

British Values
Ofsted (The Office for Standards in Education) have stated that the school curriculum should actively promote the fundamental British values.   Click here to find out how we approach this at school.
