Topic outline
- Music
Music
There are lots of musical opportunities both within the classroom and outside here at Kidmore End. All children learn to play an instrument - we learn the recorder in Year Three and Four and then the clarinet in Year Five with Mrs Robertson. Other classes are taught music by their class teacher or by Mrs Thomas, using the wide range of instruments we have in school.
- Singing
Singing
We love to sing at our school. Each week we have a singing assembly, and in the Autumn Term the Infants put on a Nativity Play which always includes beautiful singing. We have a school choir who have performed at the offices of Visa Europe and along with other schools at the Festival of Voices at Dorchester Abbey. The Choir played a key role in our Christmas and Easter church services and sometimes sing with the Church Choir from St John's, Kidmore End. Mrs Thomas and Mrs Salt are very good at finding interesting songs for us to sing!
- Instrument Tuition
Instrument Tuition
As well as learning instruments in class, children have the opportunity to have individual tuition in woodwind instruments, guitar and keyboards. We are always very happy to hear of children's successes in music exams or performances outside school, and children can bring certificates or photographs to Monday's celebration assembly.
